Welcome to the Mid-Atlantic Information Node

The Mid-Atlantic Information Node (MAIN) is a regional node of the National Biological Information Infrastructure (NBII) encompassing Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Our primary mission is to facilitate access to and use of biological resource information that is available for the region.

Data Wizard

The MAIN Data Wizard provides access to thousands of data sets related to the Mid Atlantic region. Users may search by keyword, data provider, and state or browse all data and Internet Map Services. In addition, users can add data to a Data Cart. The MAIN Data Cart provides the ability to select, clip, and reproject a group of data. The data is then zipped together for easy download. The MAIN Internet Map Services can be imported directly into a desktop GIS. The services available include image, feature, and WMS. Users can also view data in Google Earth.

The NBII Metadata Clearinghouse provides a system to search for metadata and retrieve associated data.
